ROHERS IN REPLAY WITH MILLERS DUMPS THEM 7-4 IN SIX.

“No matter what I talk about, I always get back to baseball.”

Memorial field, Orwigsburg, April 24, 2013
Well, Cranks, the Rohrer`s club played a six inning game tonight and came out ahead of a hard hitting Miller`s club 7-4. It was a close game for the Rohrer’s ball club this evening. It wasn’t till the fourth inning when our boys broke it wide open for a nice win over a hard-hitting Miller`s club.
Our fast right-hander, Brent Kaunas, took the mound and sacked the first three batters for Miller’s in the top of the first. When Rohrer`s came to bat, Blake Lipko singled. Dylan Biever walked on four balls and Brent Kaunas popped one high up off the top of the bat to center field for an out. Nate Dixon chopped a sacrificed fly to right field and Dylan rounded the bags for a score. Dylan Grace went down swinging for the last out. Brent stayed on the mound and held Miller`s out until a runner stole home and scored. 1-0 Millers. Dylan Biever our southpaw, took over from Brent on the mound. Manager Grace was going to use his entire pitching corps this evening, as this writer heard in a pre- game talk to the club. Grace wanted to keep the pitch counts way down tonight.
In the ensuing time, our boys did great at the bat and on the field. Dylan Biever hit another home run giving him three for the season and tying with Brent Kaunas for home runs. This writer talked with the slugger after the game and asked him,   “ Do you think you will catch your brother Jake’s homerun hitting number from last year?” He smiled and said, “Oh yeah!”.
When Blake Lipko’s turn came to climb up on the mound, he threw some good heat and shocked the down- in- the- cheek Miller`s club with some fine pitching. Big Nate Dixon powered a hard hit liner off the wall in deep center for a two bagger and later stole home for a run knocking the covering pitcher off his feet.
In the end, our kids played good ball tonight. Kyle Bainbridge was excellent in the outfield and at bat. Andrew Phillips is coming on as a fast and alert ball player. T.J. Schappell did swell at bat and in the field. Matt Ross seems to be the best bunter on the club. And what can you say about Troy Oswald, a steady, no fear ball player at the bat and in the outfield?
Well ,Cranks, this Friday is a late game  re-match  as the team faces the Boyer`s club. Boyer`s handed us a hard fought loss a few games ago. I feel the boys are ready and are going to give Boyer`s a workout. Be there to cheer them on
