ROHRERS BOMBARDS SCHUYLKILL MRI IN 4...10-0

ROHRERS JOLTS SCHUYLKILL MRI

10-0 IN FOUR
Orwigsburg April 9, 2013
Memorial field
Rohrer’s once again shut down another one of the league’s teams in four innings with a score of 10 all. The game itself was a slow starter  with Rohrer’s  held to only two runs for the first couple of innings. Once again good pitching proved to be just the tonic that the old family physician prescribed for the Rohrer’s ball club today as they laced the  Schuylkill MRI for 10 runs.
The MRI pitcher kept our boys at bay for over two innings throwing strikes and changeups. It took a little while till the boys got their mindset straight and the bats let fly with hits up high, down low and line drives smacking the outfield fence. It was a nice evening observing the various styles of batting.
On the mound starting for the Rohrer’s club was Dylan Biever, our left-hander. He has the courage, the heart and the stuff and the general equipment to stop any batter in this league and need have no fear of the slugging of the so-called heavy hitters that are in the league. Relieving Dylan, was Nate Dixon, a strong right-hander who had a fine day pitching and made sure that MRI did not score any runs. We have four pitchers on this club, led by manager Grace, that can hold their own against any in the league. Drilled into the noggins of these four pitchers are manager Grace`s rules. Take your time and relax. Take advantage of your defense. A strikeout takes a minimum of three pitches. A groundout just one and learn from your mistakes. If you fall behind in the count, you come back with your best pitch. And by golly from what you see out on the mound is just that.
The Rohmer’s club made a sensational defense in this game and our infield stopped at least two runs by sterling plays and caught the MRI flat-footed .They kept the score to zero runs. Our outfield played superbly and allowed nothing to get by them.
As umpire Cooper called, “ Play ball!”, our boys took the field with Dylan Biever on the mound. Nate Dixon on first base. Blake Lipko on second base and Brent Kaunas on shortstop. Dylan Grace at third base with  Troy Oswald in right field. JT Fulkrod was in center and Matt Ross in left field with TJ Shappell the catcher.
Our left-hander, Dylan Biever, warmed up as MRI came out for their first at-bat. Dylan walked the first batter. Dylan struck out the second batter with some hard pitching. As the MRI player on third tried to steal home, Dylan rushed to the plate and got them out from a nice ball tossed by TJ Shappell. Dylan walked the fourth batter. The fifth batter hit a choppy grounder to  shortstop Brent Kaunas who immediately threw the batter out at second.
Manager Grace got the club’s attention in the dugout and cautiously warned them. “Be careful and don’t swing at anything crazy”!
