ROHRERS HURTS A STRUGGLING MCDONALDS CLUB 10-0

“The one constant through all the years has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steam rollers. It’s been  erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and  erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and what could be again.”
James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams.

It was another rough night for the struggling McDonald’s ball club at the hands of a fast pitching and hard-hitting Rohrer’s ball club. Our ball club damaged any offense that McDonald’s tried to muster. Tonight, our offense was led by the big bat of Dylan Biever who, first time at bat, drove the ball up and over the center field wall for a home run and his second homer of the season. Dylan also had a triple in the third inning and a double in the fourth and another two bagger in the fifth inning.  Behind the big bat of Dylan Biever, Rohrer`s roared onto a big win.

Brent Kaunas was on the slab for the Rohrer’s club most of the night and he was in his most stylish form. He was as cool as a radiator in an apartment house, throwing strikes and those hard to hit pitches that just bounce along the ground to our infielders for the out. Blake Lipko made some excellent fields in the infield. Nate Dixon played his usual good fielding in the infield at third or first. He also had a hard-hit single in the third and walked once. The third inning turned out good for Rohrer’s as TJ Shappell had an RBI double, Kyle Bainbridge a single and Troy Oswald a single.  Matt Ross foiled McDonald’s pitcher and catcher on a tremendous bunt. Dylan Grace had a really nice RBI single . Our outfield was also in fine form with Kyle Bainbridge, Troy Oswald, Andrew Phillips and Matt Ross. All in all, it was a good win for the boys.

Our next matchup will be with the Miller`s club who has some heavy hitters and excellent hurlers. Our boys bubbled with good nature and laughs as they went through their final meeting with Manager Grace. He told the boys,” We got our bats going and we got to stay on track for more victories. “

Let`s follow that sage advice,boys.
